About the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation:
The Foundation's mission is to preserve, enhance and maintain the Sebastiani Theatre for community entertainment and education for current and future generations. A group of Sonoma Valley residents launched the Foundation on the 75th anniversary of the Sebastiani Theatre, April 7, 2009.
Box office receipts don't provide enough revenue to cover the costs of maintaining a 75-year-old building. Community support is necessary to keep the theater economically viable, due to high maintenance and operational costs. The first goal of the foundation is to raise the funds needed to complete the installation a modern heating and air conditioning system.

Press Release
SEBASTIANI THEATRE INVITES COMMUNITY
TO HELP PLAN YEAR-LONG CELEBRATION
COMMEMORATING 75th ANNIVERSARY
Seventy-five years ago, on April 7, 1934, the Sebastiani Theatre first opened its doors to the Sonoma Valley community with a screening of the film “Fugitive Lovers,” starring Robert Montgomery. In true Sebastiani Theatre style, owner/operator Roger Rhoten, the Sebastiani Theatre staff, and the newly formed Sebastiani Theatre Foundation Board of Directors is gearing up for a plethora of fantastic events to be scheduled throughout this 75th anniversary year. For the past three-quarters of a century, the Sebastiani Theatre has brought multi-faceted quality entertainment to Sonoma Valley – everything from award-winning cinema, to film festivals, live theatre performances, music concerts and dance events of many genres, magic shows, special holiday extravaganzas, children’s performing arts camps, and so much more.
The community is invited to share memories of earlier days of the Sebastiani Theatre. Photographs, any Theatre memorabilia from past eras, descriptions of events, personal experiences and stories about the Theatre – anything contributing to the 75 years of "Sebastiani Theatre lore" which would be pertinent to planning this year-long grand celebration is welcome. Please send items to the Sebastiani Theatre at 476 First Street East in Sonoma, email to theatre@vom.com, or call Roger Rhoten at (707) 996-9756.
